Kim Schwartz is the Technical Director for the Department of Theatre Arts, as well as an Assistant Professor in the Technical Theatre and Design area. Previously, she was a tenured Associate Professor in the Conservatory of Theatre Arts & Film at Purchase College, State University of New York. Prior to her professorial appointment she was part of the Technical Department team at the Metropolitan Opera for nearly five years. At the Met, she also worked as a liaison with companies such as American Ballet Theatre, the Kirov Opera, and the Kirov Ballet during their off-season events at the Met. Previously, she free-lanced as a technical consultant and CAD draftsman in both New York and the Los Angeles area.
Kim regularly teaches Scenery & Props/Lab & Crew, Advanced Stagecraft, Theatre Design & Computers.
