Theatre Arts classes and production work are conducted, with professional supervision, in our Scene/Paint Shop, Costume Shop, Properties Shop and Lighting and Sound Design Laboratory.
The 55-seat Brown Bag Theatre is a black box theatre. This space is used almost entirely by the Brown Bag Theatre Company, a class that teaches the repertory experience.
The 90-seat Studio Theatre is a modified thrust stage with fixed grid. The Studio Theatre is also used as a classroom space for directing, acting, voice, storytelling, class recitals, faculty productions, MA showcase productions and student productions.
The 701-seat McKenna Theatre is a proscenium stage with orchestra pit, fly system and film/video projection systems. It is also the largest theatre in the College of Creative Arts and is shared with the University. The School of Music and Dance employs the space once a year for musicals or operas.
